TOT Bible Support
Help with reading, study, and keeping your place—on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and TOTBible.org.
How can we help?
Questions, a problem, or translation feedback? Send a message or email our support team.
totbible@abidingplace.orgInclude your device, app or browser version, and what happened. Hide private notes in screenshots. Never send passwords or verification codes.
These tips cover the website and the 1.1 apps. Some controls may differ in older versions.
Getting started and finding help
Use Read to open Scripture, choose a book and chapter, and search for a passage. In the apps, open Settings for reading appearance, audio downloads, saved data, and content updates. Help offers short visual slides introducing the main features.
TOT Account or iCloud—which should I use?
An account is optional. You can keep reading and using the apps without creating one.
A TOT Account lets you sync supported notes and study progress across TOTBible.org and updated iPhone, iPad, and Mac apps. Sign in with Apple or Google, then enable sync in Account & Sync on each device. On the website, use the account icon. Sync checks while TOT is open and active; offline edits wait for a connection.
Prefer iCloud? Keep using it between your Apple devices with the same Apple Account. Enabling TOT Account sync saves a recovery backup and pauses iCloud sync on that device without deleting its existing iCloud copy. Only one sync system runs for that collection.
My sign-in email looks different, or my notes are missing
A linked Apple or Google sign-in may show a different email from the account’s main address. Apple’s Hide My Email can also use a private relay address. Check the account and linked sign-in methods before changing anything.
Use the same TOT Account on each device. If you want to add a different sign-in method, link it from your existing account first. Signing in alone does not turn on sync—check that Account & Sync says sync is on, and use Sync now to retry.
Keep both devices online with TOT open. Existing browser-only notes may be separate from your account library. If data is still missing, contact support before deleting notes, clearing website data, or reinstalling the app.
Interlinear and Word Study
In the 1.1 apps, open a New Testament passage in Read, open the top-right reading menu, and choose Interlinear reading mode · Beta. Select a linked word to explore its Greek wording, meanings, and available pronunciation. Return to reading turns Interlinear off.
Interlinear and Word Study share linked study resources. Some English words belong to a phrase rather than a single Greek word. Beta links may still need refinement; include the passage and words when reporting a problem.
Listening and offline audio downloads
In the apps, open Listen on the Read page. Use its download button for the current chapter, book, or full New Testament. You can also open Settings → Audio & Downloads → Audio Downloads to manage or remove saved recordings.
Downloaded recordings play offline. Streaming and new downloads need internet access. Downloads use Wi-Fi unless you allow cellular downloads. Where matching verse timing is available, playback can follow the text; updated recordings may temporarily play without verse following.
If a recording changes, content updates can provide its replacement without a new App Store release. Some recordings may temporarily differ from recently revised translation text.
Content updates and Daily Bread
Open Settings → Content Updates to check for approved translation, study, and audio updates. They can arrive without updating the whole app. Updates apply at a safe point so they do not interrupt reading or note editing.
Daily Bread also checks for newer entries. If something looks out of date, connect to the internet, refresh Daily Bread, and check for content updates. Include the content-release number and latest article date if you contact support.
Reading Streak
A day is counted automatically after 10 minutes of reading or listening, or when you check off one chapter on a reading plan. A flame marks a counted day. You do not need to check off the streak itself.
Protecting notes, backups, and account deletion
Before troubleshooting, make a restorable backup from the app’s Saved Data settings. Sharing a readable note or PDF is not the same as making a restorable backup. Do not delete the app or clear browser data as a first troubleshooting step.
Account settings include account controls and a confirmed deletion option. Deleting a TOT Account removes its account-service data, not your Apple or Google account. Follow any Apple-disconnection instructions shown. See the Privacy Policy for details, or contact support if you cannot access your account.
Translation, commentary, or word-link feedback
Please include the translation, book, chapter, verse, and exact wording or link you want us to review. TOT and its study resources continue to be refined; approved changes are delivered through content updates.
